■What is MakeShop's pre-order function ?

This function allows you to receive pre-orders for pre-release products. This allows you to receive orders for products before their release date.
This is a recommended feature for electronics shops that sell many new and popular products, apparel shops with short product life cycles, and hobby shops that sell figurines, games, DVDs, etc.

Advantages of pre-order sales

・You can sell it even if the release date is not yet decided.
For example, it is difficult to determine a specific release date for seasonal items, especially agricultural products and fruits.
With pre-orders, you can accept reservations with approximate shipping dates, such as around a certain month, allowing you to anticipate demand.


・Aim to extend the sales period
By adopting pre-order sales, you can introduce products earlier and extend the sales period. This allows you to sell apparel products before the season begins. It is also recommended for selling CDs/DVDs and anime-related products, which often have "limited first edition" releases.


・Pre-bookings available for seasonal events
Seasonal events at online shops include Christmas, Valentine's Day, New Year's dishes, etc. Since New Year's dishes and Christmas cakes are in demand once a year, once customers place an order, they tend not to look for New Year's dishes or Christmas cakes at other stores.

- Buyers can freely choose the delivery date and delivery method of the product
Buyers can specify the date on which they would like to receive their pre-ordered items.
In addition, if you purchase items with different release dates at the same time, you can choose the delivery date based on the latest release date of the item, or you can choose to receive the items separately.
*There are restrictions on specifying the date for receiving the product.
Customers can place pre-order items and regular items in their shopping cart and pay for them at the same time.

・Credit card payment and various other payment methods available
The pre-order function supports credit card payments, cash on delivery, bank transfers, and postal transfers. In the case of credit card payments, the payment is processed in one lump sum on the day the product is shipped, so it is possible to process payments even if the product is shipped six months after the pre-order is accepted.
*If you wish to implement credit card payments, you will need to enter into a separate contract with GMO Payment Gateway.
