This time, we will explain the Shopify app "Digital Downloads".
"Digital Downloads" is an app that allows you to easily sell digital content such as music and PDFs for free.

■Features・Maximum file size that can be uploaded is 5GB
・Download count can be limited ・No download bandwidth limit ・Download deadline cannot be set ・Only one file can be uploaded per product ⇒If multiple files are to be used as one product, uploading them as a zip file is possible. Uploading file folders is not possible.
*This is written under the assumption that you have already opened a store on Shopify.
(1) Access the Digital Downloads introduction page on the Shopify App Store .

Click “Add app” on the screen above.
(2) Click the “Install App” button on the screen that says “You’re about to install Digital Downloads.”
(3) When the “Add a digital attachment” screen appears, the app has been added successfully.
Clicking "View products" on the screen above will take you to the product management page, where you can register your products.
(4) Enter the required information in “Add Product” and click the Save button in the upper right.
(5) After saving, an item called "More Actions" will appear in the upper right corner. Click on it and then click "Add Digital Attachment."
(6) A screen for registering the file to be provided to the user will appear. Click "UPLOAD FILE" to upload the file to be provided to the user.
If the following message appears, the upload is complete.
(7) Next, click "Settings" to set up the email template.
The following two menus will be displayed within Email templates.
Attachment updated・・・File update email
Downloads ready...Download information email
The email sent to the user when their order is complete is a download information email, so we will set the template to "Downloads ready."
(8) Click "Downloads ready", create the Subject (email subject) and Body (email body), and click "Save" at the bottom right.
The basic settings are now complete.
You can check here how it will look on the front of the store.
(1) Click "Buy Now" on the product details page.

(2) Enter your email address and billing address and click "Proceed to Payment."
(3) Since the product you are registering this time has a price of 0 yen, you do not need to enter your credit card information. Click the "Complete Order" button.
(4) A product download button will be displayed on the order completion page.
(5) At the same time, a download instruction email will be sent to the registered email address.
You can download the product from the URL attached to the email.
Configure the following only if necessary.
■ Procedure for setting download limit
(1) Select the product you want to set up in "App Management > Digital Downloads > Dashboard".
(2) Click the gear icon on the right and click Settings.
(3) The following three menus will be displayed.
・Sale of digital content ・Selling digital content together with products that require shipping ・Setting download limits
If you are selling digital content only, leave the selections as default and enter a download limit.
When selling digital content, shipping is not required, so you will need to uncheck "This product requires shipping" on the target product settings screen in "Product Management" before starting sales.
